WELCOME TO CREEKSIDE GREENHOUSES
-
What is the difference between perennial and annual?A perennial is a plant that comes back every year. It needs to be planted in the ground and go through the winter in a dormant state. An annual is a plant that completes its life cycle within one growing season. They will not survive the winter, but can sometimes be brought into the house for the winter and then transplanted outside the following spring.

How many plants can I fit in my container?A good guideline is to plant three plants in a 10-inch container. Depending on their size, you may be able to fit a fourth plant. For a 12-inch container, you can typically accommodate four to five plants, while a 14-inch container can usually hold four to six plants. In containers that are 16 inches or larger, you can generally fit six to seven plants.
-
What is the best dirt to use?I recommend using an all-purpose garden soil that includes a slow-release fertilizer. This ensures that each time you water or it rains, some fertilizer will be released into the soil. Additionally, you can enhance blooming by applying a water-soluble fertilizer in a diluted concentration once a month..

When can I drop off my containers to be planted? You can drop off containers to be planted at Creekside starting in April or during our regular business hours once we open. The containers must remain at Creekside for a minimum of three days after planting. This allows the plants to adjust properly and helps prevent transplant shock. You can pick them up after this period.

How can I apply for a job at Creekside Greenhouses? It all starts with a job application. The planting assistant role begins at the end of February, while the greenhouse worker position starts in mid-April. All positions will conclude by the end of June.
